Stylishant ("Stylishant", "we", "us" or "our") owns and operates the online store at www.stylishant.com (the "site"). We sell phone cases, phone charms, screen protectors and related accessories to shoppers across Australia.

When you buy from us, you trust us with a bit of your information so we can get your order to your door. This page sets out plainly what we collect, why we collect it, who we let near it, and what you can do about it.

Stylishant operates out of Australia, so this policy is written to meet the Australian Privacy Principles and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you happen to be shopping from outside Australia, a few extra rights may apply to you, and those are covered toward the bottom of the page.

1. What We Mean by "Personal Information"

Personal information is any detail that can be traced back to you as a person. The obvious ones are your name, the address we ship to, your phone number and your email. Less obvious are things like the IP address your device connects from and the list of orders you've placed with us over time. All of that counts.

Some of what we hold can't point to you on its own. A figure showing how many shoppers viewed a particular case last week says nothing about who those shoppers were. Once data has been pooled together that way and had every personal detail taken out, it stops being personal information, and the rules in this policy no longer apply to it.

2. The Information We Collect

There are three routes by which information reaches us. Here they all are.

2.1 What You Hand Over Yourself

The bulk of what we keep, you give us on purpose, normally while you're shopping or asking us for help. This happens when you add products to your cart or wishlist, check out, register or log into an account, write to our support inbox, post a review, sign up for our email or text updates, take part in a competition, or complete any other form on the site.

Depending on what you're up to, the details involved might be your name, your billing and shipping address, your email, your phone number, what you ordered, and the history of what you've bought before. We also keep whatever you send us in a message and whatever we reply, along with any review or photo you decide to share and the login you use for your account. Your password is stored in encrypted form, which means it's scrambled in a way that even our own team can't read.

One thing worth flagging: if you post a review or a photo publicly on Stylishant, your display name shows up alongside it for everyone to see. If you'd sooner that stayed private, drop us an email and we'll sort it out for you.

A quick word on payment. When you pay, you do it through Shopify Payments or whichever option you pick at checkout, such as PayPal, Apple Pay or one of the big card networks. The store itself runs on Shopify. You enter your card number directly into the payment provider's own secure system, so the full number never reaches us and we don't store it. All we get back is the kind of detail you'd find on a paper receipt: the billing name, the card type, the last few digits, and a yes or no on whether the payment went through.

2.2 What We Notice Automatically

From the second you open the site; a handful of details get logged quietly in the background by cookies and similar tools. You don't enter any of it by hand. It covers your IP address and a rough idea of where you are, down to the city or state. It covers the device, browser, and operating system you're shopping on. And it covers a record of your visit: which pages you opened, what you searched for, how long you lingered, and any error that popped up while you were there.

We lean on this to keep the store running smoothly, keep it secure, and get a feel for what shoppers actually respond to so we can keep improving. Cookies get their own section further down.

2.3 What Reaches Us from Other Places

Every so often we receive details about you from somewhere other than our own site. Social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok may pass along the basic profile information you've agreed to share, if you sign in or message us through them. Our delivery and fulfilment partners send back confirmed addresses and tracking updates. Our payment and fraud checks return a result. And the analytics and advertising services we use report on how our campaigns are performing.

We line these pieces up against what we already hold so we end up with one accurate record of you instead of several patchy ones.

3. Why We Use Your Information

We only put your information to use that make sense for running our online shopping site .

The main job is delivery. We need your details to take payment, pick and pack the right items, send them to the correct address, keep you updated as the parcel moves, and handle any return, refund or warranty matter that comes up afterwards.

If you've set up an account, we use your information to keep that account ticking over, let you sign in, and show you your past orders and saved items. When you reach out with a question or something's gone wrong, your details are how we find your order and actually fix the problem.

We also study how the store gets used, which tells us what to repair, what to restock, and how to make the whole shopping experience less of a hassle. On top of that, we keep the business and accounting records we're legally required to keep.

A slice of it is about protection. We use your information to spot fraud, bogus orders and payment abuse before any of it does damage.

And some of it goes toward marketing. Where you've opted in and the law expects it, we'll email or text you about fresh stock, sales and deals, and we'll show you ads on other websites and social apps shaped around what you've browsed. You can shut the marketing off at any point, and section 7 explains exactly how.

Once in a while the law obliges us to keep certain information, or to pass it on, in order to meet a tax requirement or respond to a proper request from a court or regulator.

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, we're permitted to do all of the above because it's reasonably necessary to run the business, because you've consented, or because we're legally required to.

4. Who Else Gets Access

We don't sell your personal information to anyone. We do share it with the companies that help us run the shop, and only to the extent each one needs in order to do its part. Those are:

  • Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders on our behalf

  • The payment providers (Shopify Payments, PayPal, the card networks) that take and verify your payment

  • The couriers and fulfilment partners, Australia Post among them, that pack and deliver your parcel

  • The email and SMS providers that send order updates and, where you've opted in, marketing

  • Google Analytics, which shows us how the site is being used

  • Advertising partners such as Meta, TikTok and Google, which run and measure our ads

  • The fraud and security services that guard against scams and chargebacks

  • Our accountants, lawyers or other authorised advisers, on the rare occasion something genuinely warrants it

Each of these is bound to safeguard your information and to use it solely for the work they carry out for us.

There are also situations where we may have to release your information whether we'd want to or not: to comply with the law or a court order, to protect the safety or property of Stylishant, our customers or the public, or to investigate fraud or a breach of our terms. And if the business is ever sold, merged or reorganised, your information may move across to the new owner, who would be held to the same protections laid out here.

5. Information That Travels Overseas

Because we rely on worldwide services like Shopify, Google and Meta, a portion of your information ends up stored or processed beyond Australia, frequently in the United States or somewhere in Europe. Privacy laws in those regions don't always match ours.

Any time your information leaves the country, we take reasonable steps to keep it guarded to a level that sits in line with the Australian Privacy Principles, chiefly by working with providers who sign up to solid data handling terms. For shoppers in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses to cover those transfers.

6. Cookies and Tracking

A cookie is a tiny file a website drops onto your device when you visit. They're standard across the web, and we use them together with related tools like pixels and tags. Here's what ours are for.

A handful are simply necessary. They hold onto what's in your cart, keep you signed in, and keep the checkout secure. The store won't function without them, so these can't be switched off.

Some others remember your preferences, such as your region or the last products you viewed, so you aren't setting them again on every visit. They make the shop more pleasant to use, though you could manage without them.

Then come the analytics cookies. These tally up visitors and reveal which pages and products people gravitate toward, largely through Google Analytics. The numbers are pooled together, so they aren't used to pick you out as an individual.

Last are the advertising cookies. These let us and partners such as Meta, TikTok and Google show you ads that fit you better and gauge whether those ads are doing their job. Switch them off and the ads don't disappear; they just get more random.

You decide how cookies behave. Most browsers let you block or wipe them from the settings, and many will alert you before one is placed. Bear in mind, though, that blocking the necessary ones can break parts of the store, the checkout included. Our site doesn't currently act on browser "Do Not Track" signals. For more on managing cookies, allaboutcookies.org is a useful read, and you can opt out of Google Analytics through Google's own tool at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

7. Marketing, and How to Make It Stop

If you've signed up, we'll send the occasional email or text about new arrivals, sales and offers. You can call a halt to it whenever you please. Hit "unsubscribe" at the foot of any marketing email, reply STOP to a marketing text, or send us an email and ask. The moment you opt out, the marketing ends. You'll still receive the messages attached to a real order, like a dispatch confirmation, since those aren't marketing; they're simply us keeping you in the loop.

You can also fine-tune the ads you're shown on Facebook and Instagram from within your settings on those apps.

8. How We Keep Your Data Safe

We take security seriously. Your data is protected through a mix of sensible technical measures and careful setup. Since the store is hosted on Shopify, information moving between systems is encrypted in transit. Payments are processed through services that meet PCI rules (the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), and access to private details is limited to the staff who actually need it to do their work.

That said, we can't claim the impossible. No website or internet connection is ever entirely secure, and sending information online always carries a degree of risk, which you take on when you do it. You can help on your side too: pick a strong password and keep it to yourself, and keep your own device and software current.

Should a data breach ever occur that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll let you know and we'll report it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, exactly as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

9. How Long We Hold on to Your Data

We keep your information only for as long as there's a genuine reason to. In practice that tends to be for as long as you have an account or carry on shopping with us, plus a period beyond that. The reasons won't surprise you: completing and supporting your orders, managing returns and warranties, holding the accounting and tax records the law requires, and resolving the occasional dispute.

Once none of those reasons still hold, we either delete your information or remove anything that links it back to you.

10. Your Rights

You have a real say over your own information. Under Australian privacy law, you can ask us to:

  • Show you what we hold about you and provide a copy

  • Fix anything that's wrong, out of date or incomplete

  • Delete your information, where we aren't required to keep it

  • Stop sending you marketing

  • Withdraw consent you gave us at an earlier point

A fair amount of this you can handle yourself without contacting anyone. If you have an account, you can log in and update your name, address or contact details on the spot, and you can unsubscribe from marketing through any email we send. For anything beyond that, or if you don't have an account, use the request method below.

To make any of these requests, email us with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. So we can be sure it's really you, we may ask you to confirm a couple of details we already hold before we act. We aim to reply promptly, usually inside 30 days, and there's normally no charge. We may apply a reasonable fee, or in unusual cases turn down a request, if it's clearly excessive or keeps being repeated, and we'll always explain our reasoning.

If you live in the UK or the European Economic Area, the GDPR grants you some further rights, including the ability to limit or object to particular uses of your data and to take a portable copy of it with you.

If you're in California, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we collect, to have it deleted, and to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of it. At Stylishant, we don't sell your information for money. To use any of these rights, get in touch using the details below and tell us where you're based.

11. Links to Other Websites and Social Media

The site points outward to a fair few other places: our profiles on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and X, and from time to time the websites of other companies. Once you click away or use a social "share" button, those sites handle your information under their own policies rather than this one. We don't operate them and can't answer for them, so it's worth reading their policies before you share anything.

12. Children

Stylishant is built to sell products to adults. Neither our store nor what we sell is meant for children, and we don't knowingly gather information from anyone under sixteen. If you're younger than 16, please don't give us your information unless a parent or legal guardian has agreed to it. Should we find that we've collected a child's information without that consent, we'll delete it without delay. If you think a child has shared information with us, email us straight away with "Children's Privacy" in the subject line.

13. Updates to This Policy

As the store grows and the rules around privacy shift, we'll revise this page now and then. When we do, the latest version goes live here and the "Last updated" date at the top moves with it. If a change is a significant one, we'll go further to highlight it, whether through a notice on the site or, where the law demands it, a direct message to you. It's worth a quick look every so often so nothing takes you by surprise. Carrying on with the site after a change means you accept the updated version.

14. How to Get in Touch

Have a question, a concern or a complaint about your privacy, or want to act on one of your rights while using www.stylishant.com? Get in touch. We're glad to help and we'll do our best to put things right as quickly as we can.

If you've already raised something with us and you're not satisfied with how it was handled, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you're based in the UK or the EU, you can also approach your local data protection authority.
